Cafepress
Wow, Cafepress decided to eliminate the bonus that shopkeepers receive when they register a sale through the Cafepress marketplace. But yet, the shopkeepers are the ones that supply the design to fill up their precious marketplace.
You see, when Cafepress introduced this bonus plan, they had an affiliate program that rewarded people for bringing traffic. So you had design suppliers spreading the word and affiliate sellers spreading the word. Everyone was happy.
They then decided to eliminate their affiliate program and go with some new affiliate program. Literally took away shopkeepers need to draw traffic to the marketplace or link to other shops. Basically alienating shopkeepers. It is now a dog eat dog atmosphere.
Now this new affiliate program was not what it seems. Not only do you sell for Cafepress, but they also taxed you 20%. So you now you have shopkeepers competing with each other to get affiliated. Dog eat dog once again.
Now let's get back to the marketplace. Cafepress literally owns the Google searches. They pay tons of money to showcase their products. But what they didn't realize was, since they took away the affiliate program and took away shopkeepers advertising other shops. This actually dried up the marketplace.
So what do they do? They take from the same shopkeepers that helped them boost their marketplace in the first place.
I'm writing this because it is what it is. I'm a black and white person, no grey area with me. You are either with me or you are against me. Don't come to me with grey areas, I don't have time for it.
